Below is information regarding Part A and Part B after your application has been processed.
PART A
Live Interview/Background Check (30%)
Introduction
This interview could either be scheduled or done when both parties are online along with 1 interview star. In the event that all community managers are busy, we usually like to schedule according to the times you list in your application.
Background Check (Invited Members Only!)
In rare cases, invited members do not have to perform the live interview due to both parties being busy. In this case, we perform a background check, where the Background Check Panel will be asked about past experiences with this member and whether they think they are a match with The Gifted. Members of the Background Check Panel is not disclosed to the public, in order to prevent members from unfair judgement and for partaking in being particularly friendly to some members. Communications and judgement between this panel will be done in discretion.
Who will be holding the live interview?
During the event of a background check, there will be 1 Community Manager present and 1 Interview Star present. The Community Manager will ask you 3 general questions and the Interview Star will ask 1 spontaneous question. Interviews last for 10-15 minutes depending on reply time, but we schedule them at half an hour intervals in order to accommodate all situations.
PART B
Shop Judging Check (70%)
Introduction
The Shop Judging Check will be judged by all members. After the Live Interview/Background Check, you must wait 3-7 days for results from either Pastelle or Witch Histoire, possibly through mail or PM. A minimum of 5 members who are online in the course of the next 5-7 days will then judge by visiting your shop and giving answers of ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
Consideration of Fairness
Since all members’ thoughts will be considered, ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ votes cannot be bought. In cases of bribery, it will lead to permanent suspension of membership in The Gifted and permanent disqualification from The Gifted applicants.
How long will it take?
This process takes 5-7 business days. Afterward, the Application Community Manager will PM you regarding your eligibility for membership.
PASTELLE'S SECRET TIPS' BANK
1) Don't assume Part A is useless. If you think you're not good enough and perhaps borderline, do better in Part A. This is because if you get a 30/30 in Part A, you will only require the minimum passing mark of Part B in order to join. We have had cases where people's Part A saved their Part B and ended up getting in.
2) Find an Interview Star that you believe will be able to help you. Believe it or not, although our interview stars are uniformly trained (they do the same training session), they each have different values and virtues. A 23/30 for one interview star could mean a 30/30 for another. Try asking for tips from 1 specific interview star and then do the interview with this interview star.
3) Have a neat, clean city. Make sure your creations are accessible and has easy access to the shop or even has signs indicating where the shop is. Because all our members vote 'yes' or 'no', it requires time for each to check the shops. Minimising the time required to walk to the shop means a more delightful experience for our member and easy judgement. We've had people who got a 'no' previously due to messy shop.
4) Be original. Be original in your creations and answers to Part A, instead of giving us stuff like, 'I want to inspire and aspire!', be original in your replies and creations, and make sure your creations echo the beliefs of The Gifted.
OVERALL MARKING
Passing Marks
In order to pass the interview and judging, you must score a minimum of 15% out of 30% in Part A (i.e. 15/30 marks) and at least 45% out of 70% in Part B (45/70). Your final score must be over 75/100 in order to pass, i.e. (75%)*. Once you pass, you will be eligible for The Gifted membership.
Constructive Criticism and Feedback
If you fail, you can ask for feedback from the Community Managers who will give you advice on how to improve your interview/background check or your shop specifically depending on which one you did not do well.
*The Final Judgements are made by the Community Managers in discretion. People who score just below 75% will be discussed amongst the community managers and other members. Other cases may also be revoked or accepted.
